Back in 2015 you may have seen a 30 minute short film on YouTube, and then Netflix, called Kung Fury, a crowd funded passion project from Swedish film maker David Sandberg. It tapped into the wave of 1980’s nostalgia before Stranger Things was even around but does it in a far more over the top cartoonish way, with things such as a ultra-babe Viking women who ride dinosaurs all the way to a kung-fu fighting arcade machines gone rouge. The film did so well that 80’s icon David Hasselhoff even released a official single with the filmmakers.
The plan with Kung Fury has always been to make a feature length film and it looks like that’s finally happening! This week the Hoff has confirmed he’ll be in the new feature along with two Hollywood A-listers, the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger and the ever handsome and talented Michael Fassbender. That’s some fantastic casting particularly Arnold who’s cinematic golden age was mostly in the 80’s. Wether this film will be a bigger screen version of the already existing Kung Fury film or a full on sequel to the original film is still unknown as yet but it’s safe to say it will not be a bore fest!
